What Everyone Should Know!

It is 4:36 a.m. by my time, and I am stark awake. The first to-do that rang in my head was MASS. Then, for a minute, I paused and reflected that I’d been a mass server for more than 9 years. Wow.

I could, in a flash, remember the first day I wore the cassock and served. The excitement was lit. We were 5 newbies that day, and all of us were happy.

We all have one thing that has helped us to understand life at its best. For some, it may be joining an NGO, a Community, or enrolling in an academy. What is yours? But for me, it is being a Mass Server.

Well, Mass Servers are Catholic kids—and youth sometimes—that help the priest in celebrating the Mass(the Mass is almost the same thing as a Christian service) and performing other liturgical functions. We often call them Altar Servers or Altar Boys too.

As I said earlier, I have been serving for more than 9 years now, and I must say that I have gained a lot! Life is like a dice that has different faces; different perspectives, shocks, and realities. Being a server exposed me to all the facets.

Altar serving gave me a holistic formation. And one shocking thing I've noticed is: these lessons I learned on the altar…
