The truth that ain’t sweet.

Nothing gladdens me more than hearing that the food is ready! When I hear that, one beautiful foodie smile will span across my face and my tastebuds will start drooling in anticipation.
That is what I like to hear. But do you know there is ONE thing we all don’t like to hear? And the sad thing is: we won’t grow without this ONE thing. What could that thing be? Can you guess?
I just had an amazing haircut(Wizkid-Afro)last week. And when I looked at the mirror, I saw one handsome young man with a lovely look that will make any lady smile and say "Hi, can I meet you?"
Everyone was saying that I looked sweet and I was—lowkey—blushing. But after a while, I reflected that what if folks were just telling me what I wanted to hear? You can’t rule it out though.
Well, this is not just some posts to make you feel good by the way. I want to tell you what you wouldn’t love to hear. If you can be patient enough to finish this brief post, the paradigm-shift will make you live a far better life!
Constructive Criticism!
Yes, constructive criticism is what we all don’t love to hear. You must have seen girls who don’t know how to wear makeup, but when you see them you’ll say they look gorgeous.
Yeah, they would blush when you tell them that because that was what they wanted to hear. But do you know what you have just done? You have failed to bring their attention to why they should master their make-up skills.
I love to hear compliments and appreciative words too—they boost morale—but lately, I’ve been learning to hear constructive criticisms.
What do you do? Are you a designer, programmer, writer, or an entrepreneur? If you are hell-bent on getting better at your craft, then you must be open to receiving constructive criticisms.
And by the way, what is constructive criticism? Simply put, it is feedback telling us what we could have done better in a project or anything of the sort.
The aim of constructive criticism is not to make you feel bad or incompetent. Instead, it helps to know how you can do something more excellently.
That your eBook manuscript, get someone to review it. That website or app you designed, get someone to critique it. Constructive criticism shapes us into the best version of ourselves.
After all, we all claim to be imperfect and fallible. Hence, we should not only hear what we like to hear but also what we don’t.
I have discovered this lately and I thought of sharing it with you. I hope it helps. As usual, make sure you’re growing.
I love to see you grow.
